Fast Burns vs Sportsman II

Which is better along the lines of getting hp and torque down low. I like the feeling you get a stoplight when you accelerate with lots of low down power but, i do want to still get up to 5500 rpms and produce moderate to good power. I looking to build a 390 to 415 ft/lb engine to combine with the T-56 and 3.73 or 4.10 gears.

The more you open up the inlet charge ie. 200=cc head runners, larger throttle body, bigger intake, etc., you are going to lose low end torque

------------------
92 Camaro Z28
350 TPI
Dart Iron Eagle heads
10.5:1 cr
Lunati L54779 cam
52mm throttle body
Ported plenum
Home made AFPR ($2)
1 5/8 shorty headers
Ram air
255 lph Holley fuel pump
2.5 inch TRUE DUAL exhaust (no cats)
Flowmaster mufflers
4.10 gears
700R4 w/2000 stall
100HP nitrous
Best time before any of these mods:
15.1 @ 91.9
Best time after mods:
12.60 @ 108.3
That is at high alt.

why is that. and which one do you people recommend for the torque? I know the fast burn heads produce alot of hp at around 5400.

Car: 1990 iroc
Engine: 350 tpi
Transmission: 700r4
it kind of depends on what your are building. I would not run 200 cc runner heads if my reline was going to be 5500 or 6000 the afr 190 out preform the fastburn. if you look at the flow #s the dart iron eagle 180cc heads would probably be the best for for tpi engine if cost is a factor. if not get the afr 190's. on a 350 everything I have heard says that unless you are spinning lots or r's with a big cam steer clear of the large runners.
