hmmm, I don't get that problem that often.
Are you trying to monitor while starting the car ?
How about the connectors, are they clean ?
Are you running the latest software (EZ-Link)v.1.44 ?
The biggest advantage with the EZ-Link over the XP240 is the fact that is supports more current vehicals, and you can link it up to your home computer to upload captures to there PC-Link software & cable. You can also flash the memory to the lastest version using there software. The coolest thing I did over the winter, was purchase the enhanced OBDII upgrade over the phone. (A must if you own a 96 or newer car)
BTW: I wouldn't call the EZ-Link new, I've had mine for a couple of years now.

A heads -up on the "not responding"......
Mine does that often, and 90% of the time it is a loose ignition. Wiggle the key while intializing.
or ****-eyed plug into the aldl.

My auto-xray links great in my Cavalier and Bravada, but it gets challanging with my Camaro. I think it relates to the ALDL plug!
