Seriously though... it is really scary. Even with full coverage, they cannot account for the 1000 hours I put into the car, or every single new bolt, and modification.
If I lost my car, I would lose half of my soul.

My condolences. The theft of someone's prized car is almost as heart wrenching as the death of a beloved pet. Hopefully it will turn up without much damage.
Unfortunately, auto theft is one of the fastest rising forms of crime. I know that when I bought my 1991 F-body (new), it was because it had VATS which made me buy my 1991 over earlier models. Today, I won't even buy a car unless it has a factory anti-theft device. They are not impossible to defeat by a "pro", it does stop your typical crack-head auto theif.

Thats gay. I'm in the Whatcom County but I'll keep my eyes open. I frequent the highway and know where the russians around here keep cars they steal. Light blue camaro's always catch my eye. Wish we could lop off limbs for stealing!

It may just be a ing switch that you many need.
As for seats I have a set of gray seats that are not in the best of shape but you can have them. I may have a set of wheels that I will allow you to have.
Heck Shot me a email if you want any of this stuff. We may be able to help you get the car back on the road.

Nope they found it abandoned , if anyone wants pics i took some while i was looking at her today, so email me if your interested in the car and want to see the car at happygoturtle@yahoo.com,
----------
No they broke the left side of the steering column, dunno how they started it, i tried for a hour and i could not get it to start. the key was able to go in but it did not catch to anything. The towing guy said looks like they pushed back the ignition bar? he tried but no luck. lights and stuff still come on the car, i wish i could get it started to see if its worth towing to my house. I got a small spare in the trunk, 2 tires would be really helpful, the rims on it are still nice, little bit of curb bite, too bad for my tires there were nice tires, cost me 100$ a piece.
----------
did they take a screw driver to start it?

It's so terrible that people do that sort of thing and get away with it...
I hope you can get your car fixed easily/cheaply, sounds like all you need is some seats, tires, and a new column. If you really don't think it's worth fixing, I might be interested in it as a parts car... I'll shoot you an email.

Sorry to hear of your loss! I too live in tacoma, and I can not wait to move away from this arm pit! If your interested in a primo Z, supercharged, new engine/tranny, I may be selling mine. My wife and I are moving between Lacey and Yelm and we may be getting some horses = I may need to purchase a truck capable of hauling a horse trailor. So, I might need to sell my Z.
I really wish I would have found the ai#(*$*'s who stole your car! I would have beat them an inch from their useless lives!

Another Tacoma resident here. I've had several of my Camaros broken into over the years but none stolen. My wife's '94 Camaro was stolen from her work in Pacific a few years ago. When we got it back it had drug paraphenalia in it too. I had to get it completely detailed before she would drive it again!

Sorry to hear that your car was left in bad shape. I hope you don't have any serious mechanical problems like a f'd engine, tranny or rear-end.
However, soon all those theiving IV/crack-smoking drug users will be dead (due to AIDS) and the crime will stop.

Re: ~Stolen! 89 Blue/Blk Camaro ~Tacoma Area~
Well, I"m asking 12500 for it. I'm about to put it into the auto trader as my wife and I are preparing to put our house on the market next month. I've 5K on a new engine with eagle 4340 internals, I had a guy build my 700r4 exactly like a probuilt automatic tranny with all roller bearings. AFR 190 heads, paxton sn 2000m supercharger, plus instructions to rebuild the supercharger, custom kit, sub frame connectors, lca's, panhard rod, Elibach pro springs - 1 inch lower, fast as hell and solid. I hate to sell her, but my daughter wants a horse or two. My wife and I are getting 5 acers down on Lake St. Clare so I may be getting a heavy duty truck that can pull a horse trailer. Kind of makes me sick, the thought of selling my baby OH YEA, I also have a ford 9 inch in my back yard that is waiting to be fab-ed to fit my Z that will go with my car. And the tuning software
John, thanks for the nice words. Hope all is well with you and your family. One of these times I will make a gathering. Just too much going on the past 3 years....wow.

Re: ~Stolen! 89 Blue/Blk Camaro ~Tacoma Area~
i have a 92 steering column you can have for free. i have a set of four wheels WITH tires. cooper cobras 50% tread left atleast. i'd sell em to you for 300 obo. i will even DELIVER them, and i bet $$ i can get that car started as well. the ignition bar = one of the rods on the bottom of the steering column. easy way to "hotwire" a car. the key moves the rod, the rod moves the ignition swith. if you move the switch W/O the key the car fires right up. you don't even have to break the column, you only need the lower hush pannel removed. all you need to do is get under there and move the switch again and it will fire right up.
the switch/rod are on the top of the steering column, reach up there and you should feel the rod, probably WAY out of where it is supposed to be.
what are you doing Monday, i could drive up there and deliver wheels/steering column and help you move the car. my mom lives in castle rock, so i am up near that area alot anyway. let me know if you would like any of the help i have offered. PM me i don't get on TGO too much anymore.
EDIT* if you don't want to buy the wheels i would still be happy to lend them to you for an hour so we can get your car home.
EDIT** good god! Tacoma is 2hrs and 30 minutes away. offer still stands but you will owe me lunch

Re: ~Stolen! 89 Blue/Blk Camaro ~Tacoma Area~
this is silly, why would you get rid of your car over this??? if the didnt kill the motor (or trans) then its all fixable!!!! for way less than a differant car. u want to dump a bunch of money on a car but you cant afford to fix this??? im confused, hot wire it or find some one who can, get some tires from pull a part where u live, the are like 12.50 each, they dont even have to be the right size just the right bolt pattern. not to be an azz but if u cant afford to fix this u sure cant afford a new car of any kind unless its free. the people who stole it started it, so can u, also is the starter out maybe?
this really sucks and i know ur frusterated but i dont think youre thinking staight unless u know something youre not saying like the motor is toast, even have it towed to a shop and fixed is cheaper than another maro. i found my bird for 100 running but that was very rare. good luck, and man why is t town so messed up. all them tweekers up there fricken meth heads. get outa t town and come up north, everett isnt bad as long as u dont own a honda
this is why i refuse to live in apartment complexs, everytime i have i have had my cars busted into or attempted to be stolen. monroe or snohomish is cool if u can find a house for rent. i live in a crappy place just so i can have my cars behind a gate, i literally live in a fancy work shed i have a welder, and a tranny, some heads and stuff in my kitchen but its fine with me.
oh and seats cost 12.50 at pull a part, u can fit other gm seats in there, anything for a temp fix

Re: ~Stolen! 89 Blue/Blk Camaro ~Tacoma Area~
i figured it was related to tow yard fees. i dont get how tow yardsget away with it, they are as criminal as the theives!. a theft recovery shouldnt ding the owner! yeah sucks glad you got a better car. where did you move to?
