New Best and 139.93 MPH!
Actually got 2 new best yesterday.I finally tried out a set of true slicks on my car. 28x9 MT ET Drags.Would prefer 28x10 but I them scored locally here for $50.00.Threw em on a set of ol chevy rally wheels I had. I wasnt crazy about using the heavy Rally wheels, but i wanted to try the slicks out before I spent any money on another set of Prostars. The MT Dragradials are a good tire but have been very inconsistent for me as far as bracket racing goes.As most will tell ya.
I did raise the shot up to 200 HP
Best ET 10.06 1.42 60 ft MPH was 134.9 .Tad better ET than the 150 shot.
Figured maybe the 200 hit was working my converter harder at the other end.Maybe why MPH wasnt any better?
Well checked the carb out a bit.The back float was low.Raised it up.
Forgot to purge...Grrrrrr
Had a slight delay before the gas hit..
Went 10.10 @139.93 1.46 60ft Felt real good at the other end.
Man what a new paint job can do for ya. lol
Pretty stoked about the MPH and hoping to get into some 9.80s or so in the near future.

Congrats!!! That MPH is stellar. Now you are back at that "hump" trying to break in to the single digits. Get ready to get your NHRA licence, and window net.

Re: New Best and 139.93 MPH!
Almost 140 mph and still only low 10's. You must be losing traction off the line or something. I do 140 mph at 9.75 and with only a 1.40 60' time on 29.5 x 10.5 tires.
Run IHRA. No special license required until 8.99. Still need the cage etc to run into the 9's. Just don't need a competition license or chassis certification. By the time you hit the 8's, you pretty well have a purpose built race car.

This is a 3580lb street car with 3.73 gears and 28" tall tire.Neither of these things are really helping it ET wise.I trailered the car to the track yesterday. Its usually drivin there, bracket raced, then driven home.
Thanks! I want that 9.99 pretty bad,but im done once i get it.No 10 point cage for me.I usually spray the car just for fun on Friday night street nights here, messing with the local fellas. Ya Wasnt to long ago I was chasing that 10.99 lol

You misread that. He asked what the 1/8 mile times were. As a comparison, my 1/8 mile time is 6.252 at 112.50 mph.

Re: New Best and 139.93 MPH!
down where i live we only have 1/8th miles. theres about 8 tracks within 100 miles and all 1/8th mile. i try to go once a year to the quater but it's 4 hours away. so i'm not too good at 1/4 mile times. they have those calculators but i want to see a real world comparison. my car runs 6.80's and i want to see what that might be in the 1/4. what do you mean PREVIOUS POST I"VE MADE?

meaning comparaed to most of the mubo jumbo talk on here, you actually make sense and know what your talking about that's why your first post here threw me waay off LOL!!
As for your 6.80's in the 1/8, that's roughly 10.80's in the quarter based off other slips I've had.

Re: New Best and 139.93 MPH!
OMG, dont get me started LOL!! Business has litrally tripled this year compared to my best year ever in the past, getting pulled so many different directions as far as job site babysitting, talking to new customers, putting bids together after talking with them, lining jobs up, getting my subs in place to keep my guys moving, etc...I completely understand why all the bigger guys in this line of work told me to stay small, "you'll have twice the headaches and the same amount of money at the end of the year" and just like other advise from guys that know....they're right LOL!! should be a fun year to get under my belt though before I decide which direction to go in '08.
nuff bout my headaches...back to you

Re: New Best and 139.93 MPH!
thanks. i really wish we had a 1/4. we got bristol and atlanta thats the closest. but it's nice to see what i would be looking at. i ran 7.40's at bowling green and that was 11.50 @ 125. i was having all sorts of problems with fuel though. right now i have the stock 10 bolt with a 3.42 gear. and a 350 turbo. i hold it in 2nd and go through the traps at 7300. so i got plenty for a 1/4. would like to get a stronger rear and a lower gear with a transbrake. but 1 thing at a time.

Re: New Best and 139.93 MPH!
Best ET 10.06 1.42 60 ft MPH was 134.9 .Tad better ET than the 150 shot.
Figured maybe the 200 hit was working my converter harder at the other end.Maybe why MPH wasnt any better?
Went 10.10 @139.93 1.46 60ft Felt real good at the other end.
Man what a new paint job can do for ya. lol
Pretty stoked about the MPH and hoping to get into some 9.80s or so in the near future.

That car is getting faster every year! - Mine is close to heading to scrap yard
Get some better air and break 140!!! thats killer man! a 140 mph street car.
Just think, my purpose built 496 is just hitting 140! Though I think she will see more this season..
Good job man! Great MPH, Nice ET, Beautiful street car with conservative gear.. Thats what mine liked - 3.73's with taller 28"s.. Think it helped the converter stall later..

You know I had a scary incident last friday night, they were only running us 1/8 mile because it had t-stormed about 30 mins before the track opened. Well I waited for 30 mins for other cars to run and see what was up with the track..So i run, spray the car..all seemed good, right at the 1/8 mile marker my car went sideways. Ya sideways at 108 mph aint as fun as you think.I about **** my pants lol. I honestly felt glad I had the rollbar, pain in the azz saftey belt and stuff for once instead of bitchin about it.
I can only express sorrow about your TA man.Id be a depressed dude it that happened to my Z28.Glad you got your Camaro to keep your mind off it some.
Im gonna try to get your coil overs on next week, then maybe I can get some air like that TA of yours use too!

LoL Trust me man.It wont stop at 11.99! Thanks Again!

Then, well maybe high 12's, mid 12's, high 11's would make me really happy..
mid 11's would be cool to do once in my street car, well I am already at mid 11's why not try 10s, the car almost has the power..
Would'nt a 9 be cool! Never did make that goal.. 10.0 on a 125/150 shot but pump gas still..
Already thinking, soon as the Camaro hits 9.50 natural I am going to spray to 8's
Thanks man..I might go for it again this weekend
Sorry to go off topic, its just funny..
