I was thinking what I could do for my next mod and I came up with the idea of sticking an array of LEDs to replace the bulbs in my tail lights. So I did some searching on the post and came across a post by TheGreatJ and I really like what he did with his. I kind of have an idea of how he did, but I just wanting to get some help from some body whos done something like this before. I think he just wired up some LED arrays on PC board and connected it to the power supply.

Actually I punched about 1100 holes in the factory lenses with a drill press, and mounted the LEDs through the holes. That's the main reason I put the blackouts over them....the LEDs stuck through the lenses and I wanted a smooth surface instead of the little bumps of the individual LEDs.

I was doing a write-up on how I went about the whole thing, but I don't think I ever finished it. I'll attach what I have and you can figure out the rest.

FWIW I ran those lights for almost two years before the local fuzz started harassing me about the blackouts. I ended up pulling them off the car and sticking them in the shed to avoid paying fines, and then when I split up with my ex-wife they disappeared. I have every intention of doing another set to go on my new car, a white IROC with black accents.
