Re: New from FAST EZ-EFI

I just read it uses 3 injectors and diff sizes available.

TPS MAP IAT WB02 and coolant temp sensors.

Maybe someone can explain to me how it might determine AE A/F? Maybe an assumed A/F to target? I wonder how cold start A/F can be calculated as WB is out of loop. Maybe CID ?

Re: New from FAST EZ-EFI

If you look close int the picture you will see a comunication cable. Similar to all of the fuel injection systems out there I believe you can do some tuning yourself.

Re: New from FAST EZ-EFI

Just installed one on my 85 Z28. Starts up and idles nice. GM crate 350/290 hp with airgap performer intake. Hope to have it on the dyno tomorrow to see if it will pull 250 to the wheels.

Would this be a good thing for a TBI car?

Re: New from FAST EZ-EFI

Is the Aero VAFPR hooked up? Looks like it is. If so apparently Fast ECU/MASK supports that

$1950.

Would no longer be TBI as would be "pseudo" port fuel as fuel injected under throttle blades into manifold plenum.

compare cost to a port fuel manifold with TB unit (8) injectors rails plumbing and EBL with port fuel mod.

Re: New from FAST EZ-EFI

Ronny,

Port fuel imply just that, fuel is injected at the port directed at the intake valve. If you are interested in doing a TPI the price of a FAST XFI is slightly more than the price I see above.

Yea, it's at about 40 psi. One issue we had was the signal wire to the unit. The unit is hard wired to the battery, but the key on signal needs a full 12 volts. We hooked it to the choke wire since it wasn't going to be used. It seems my choke rely was going bad and the voltage was to low to enable the unit. It's now hook to a plug on the fuse block, so no more problems there. I'm using a DUI HEI and the rpm module failed today. Swapped on a new and it fired right up. I'll update next week.

Re: New from FAST EZ-EFI

I would think the grounding is important. Also If running a WB the WB controller should be be grounded to same place as ECU.

Thats about what I paid for my SFI setup.

Although the install is a bit easier, one downside to the system is that its still a wetflow system like carb and TBI. You still have to deal with all the fueling dynamics that you have when there is gas in the manifold. With MPFI/SFI, the fuel dynamics are kept to a minimum, so there is less worry about having to tune to compensate for it.

Nothing really wrong with that. If you have a perfectly working combo that makes tons of power with a carb, say a 850 for example but you want it to start on cold mornings, have timing control, etc this is a great solution.

The wet flow is nice because you can use a manifold or combo that is proven. With port FI, manifold selections are limited. The horizontal draw manifolds all have distribution problems, and the singleplanes are not always a good compromise for a street driven vehicle.

The most prohibitive thing about the thing is the cost.. For $1900 I could build a killer combo that will tune itself too.. (with wideband)
