Engine: 2.8 V6
Transmission: 700 with overdrive
need help with 87 2.8 camaro cooling problem
I have an 87 camaro it runs great when it has sat for a long period of time runs like a top can even spin the tires but after it warms up runs like crap no power it overheats the transmission line gets so hot i cant touch it put in a trans cooler still does it and when the air is on overheats fast can someone please tell me what the problem could be I do live in vegas where it gets very hot but even at night it does the same the fan kicks on too if u can help please email me at porky_pig84@yahoo.com thanks

Car: '89 Camaro RS
Engine: 5.7 LS1
Transmission: 6 SPD.
Axle/Gears: 3.25
try checking your fluids on your transmission, you mught have a leak, or not enough fluid.. that might cause it to overheat. at least your tranny's fan kicks in when it suppose to.. give it a complete tune up, and a flush! that might help out! esspecially when it sits out for a while you need to give it some new blood.

well I just changed the tranny filter and the fluid is fresh im thinking i might just take out thr thermistat think i spelled it wrong lol but i might try that i dont need the heater 4 awhile do u think i should?
