my engine compartment was way to cluttered....so..I decided to buy a standard heater box, the ac delete pulley and a pulley to get rid of my smog pump. Turned out pretty nice....but now...I'm dealing with those bright yellow ugly plug wires...

also thinking about ditching the vette covers...and getting a nice set of black valve covers...or refinishing mine.

That's probably the most tasteful looking TPI engine bay I've seen to date. I personally like the vette covers, the red makes a nice subtle contrast. Maybe get "Camaro" lettering, but I'd deffinitely keep that bit of red in there.

I love the ac delete box....where can you get one? Ive never had the ac hooked up in my car since Ive owned it, and never plan to (thats what t-tops are for)....how hard is the install....seems pretty straightforward
....I love the vette covers too....as odd as the pairing is (vetter covers on a maro) it's always been cool to me

Keep the vette covers. As for the yellow wires go with either MSD 8.5mm red or black and route them under the headers/manifolds. That's how I went with mine and it really helped clear up the clutter.

both of you guys have BEAUTIFUL engine bays, wish mine was just like that. One of my winter projects is to get my hands on an A/C Delete box and install that puppy, how hard is it? Like stated before it seems pretty straight forward, but are there any tips/tricks that go along with it?

I got the heater box for $75 bucks from IrocZDave...he has his own website. I had to change the resister (only 2 bolts, very easy) and hood up the ground and power to the blower motor, that's all. Over all a pretty easy mod....and it cleaned up the engine bay very well. I bought the AC delete pulley thought gmpartsdirect...and paid about 50 bucks for that. I also bought the Smog Pump Delete Pulley and got rid of all of that too.

Dialed in. I like the extra cooling you have. Thats a good idea. That will keep the back cylinders a little cooler.

when you guys buy the non a/c box do you jut buy the outer one ? the one under the hood only ?
dont have to swap the interior box out ??
are the interior boxes all the same between a/c and non a/c ??
they arent on other makes and models, such as full size cars, and trucks,
the inside boxes differ alot between a/c and non a/c on other makes and models i know
f bodies must be oddball and share all the same inner box
hmm..

I just did the engine side box since it is the easiest to get, but I do have the vent block off plates and the non-ac controls in the garage.

looks tight, but i like how the yellow plugwires mix up the silver and black a bit.
You can hide them, but you know they're still there...haha.
once again, SWEET camaro!

this is just the thread I was looking for! Im doing the exact same thing you are! Im in the process of deleting my AC and right now im bidding on a AC delete heater box and got my 1LE ac delete pulleys coming in from gm parts direct, for a while I have been wondering and being concerned if the air controls work except for the AC obviously, but now I know thanks to you! How long did it take you to do all of it? 1 day?
