From what I've read it's not a GN however. It's a LT1 in a GN body.

It's a detuned twin turbo small block.Meaning it's been detuned scince he bought the car or so I've heard.Never heard anything about it being an LT1 though, didnt think the LT1 block could hold up under these types of hp applications(1500+).Still wild to see a car lay down almost 1100hp to the wheels while smoking the tires

The motor in that car is Bob Rieger's old black S-10 motor. Twin turbo sbc. I believe it is a 427" and it has twin 76s

Kenny Duttweiler built it

Isn't it ironic how one of the fastest GN's has a SBC in it, lol.

I'd agree, except for the fact that in the mid 8's he's nowhere near the fastest GN

yeap, and then there are still more sbc's that will outpower them. Look a few links down to the one with almost 1,700 hp.

In GN's?, or are you going tangent to the thread?.
If that's the case, then just keep looking there are even engines that outdo the SBC in shear HP.

I can tell you that if the dyno run where he spun his tires on the dyno is his best there is a bunch more hp on tap compared to what the dyno displayed

I'll add my $.02 also. I know 2 people who I guess know Chris and they say it's a 390 cube Duttweiler SBC that made 1800+ on the race tune+big octane and whatever you see in that video on the not so hot tune. Rieger's old truck is in Steve Miller's hands now and he's been racing the **** out of it Same old 427SBC Twin 76mm setup. Kinda like a Hand-me-down truck, Hopefully I'm next in line if I can scrounge up the $$$$$$

Reiger had the best motor and turbo combo in his 57 chevy. I think it was a 427 also. He was sponsored by Turbonetics and was running their Y2K turbos but they would come apart at high hp. Not to mention T-netics gave him the run-around when it came time to get his turbos rebuilt. So he left them for Innovative Turbo, where he had some custom 105mm turbos made up. They still came apart above 2100 hp, but once Innovative got the bugs worked out, their turbos made over 2400 hp on Duttweilers dyno before Reigers motor let go....Just some cool turbo info
