Rochester carb, need help

This is berlettakid's brother not berlinetta kid. I just put a re built rochester carb on my 307 because my carter was to big for my engine. Me and my brother think that the rochester carb is pumpin to much gas into my engine. If I put the pedal to the floor it will bogg out for a second then start running good and if you pump it at all and try to start it, it will be flooded just from one pump. Theres only 2 adjusting screws that I could find so if anyone know's rochester carbs tell me what's wrong thanks.

Set the 2 mixture screws to 3 turns out to start and tighten the air valve spring and try again. The qjet is a vacuum carb it doesnt just dump fuel in. You could also bend the arm on the accelerator pump so it doesnt depress as far, but i suspect the av spring. Sounds as if you have 2 seperate problems, with the pump affecting the startup flooding.
