John okfoz has just released a new, and improved, T-shirt design for ThirdGen.org! Scott Moyer, who created ThirdGen.org's last T-shirt design, worked with John to design a T-shirt that incorporated the comments and suggestions from members in order to give them what they wanted. Members asked for a more "stock" in appearance Third Generation Camaro and Firebird. In addition, members asked for a T-shirt without vendor logos. This upcoming Thursday (09/04/08) at 10:00 AM Central Time, ThirdGen.org will be offline for maintenance. This maintenance will result in the forums not being available during this time period. This downtime is, hopefully, estimated to only last approximately 10 minutes. Thanks.

This Thursday, 03/13/08, ThirdGen.Org will perform a planned maintenance that will result in a short downtime of an approximately 1-2 hours. This planned maintenance is scheduled to occur around 1:00PM-3:00PM Central Time. Thanks.

As some of you may already know, ThirdGen.org moderator and member Scott worked to get Third Generation Firebird and Camaro enthusiasts a T-shirt design. The members who pre-ordered their T-shirts should have already received them, as the T-shirts have already been printed and shipped to those who pre-ordered and paid for them. Dear ThirdGen.Org Members, I would like to officially announce, and inform you, that ThirdGen.org ("TGO") has been acquired by Internet Brands, Inc., which operates leading automotive web sites such as CarsDirect.com, GreenHybrid.com, NewCarTestDrive and Wikicars.com. We actually would have announced earlier (I know there's been a lot of speculation), but Internet Brands has been keeping its recent acquisitions quiet until the company filed to go public last month. To give you an idea as to how large and involved Internet Brands is, Internet Brands recently acquired vBulletin, which is the software that we (and thousands of other websites) use to provide our forums. Internet Brands also acquired a few other GM enthusiast websites such as CorvetteForum.com and LS1Tech.com. Internet Brands has informed me that their plan is to continue to maintain TGO as a stand-alone site, while leveraging Internet Brands’ technology and content resources where they can enhance the site. There are no changes planned for TGO at this point, other than having recently moved to bigger, faster servers. One benefit to having Internet Brands acquire TGO is that Internet Brands has the software, hardware and other resources available to allow TGO to continue to grow and develop, all while ensuring that TGO's website continues to perform and operate as smoothly as possible. For example, the search function on the forums hasn't worked well recently, and Internet Brands is working to improve that custom code as soon as possible. I will continue to play an active, and large, role in the club and in the growth of the website. I will still continue to be available to you and will continue to help in all areas that I can, as I have been doing so for the past few years. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me. There is a FAQ about the acquisition below, and we’ll be discussing the topic on the message boards.
